What did you do in the garden today?

Been working on some garden edging very slowly, pulling a few weeds, but the bulk of the work is in watering! I almost have the next section fenced off for the ducks, but I just have to secure it in places and put a gate on before they can use that area.

    What's for dinner?

I love the stuff, Milo and vegemite are staples in my house! Most people are tricked into eating vegemite by the spoonful and are totally put off by the experience, but just a thin spread with butter or cream cheese is the way to go. Milo is the opposite, the more you can fit in the glass of...

    Weather

Lovely today, high cloud cover keeping the bright sun out are the best summer days. About 38C out there but its grey, not bright blue, so totally bearable.

    Coronavirus Concern Up

No further spread past that one case in the state here, so lockdown lifted over a week ago and now no mask requirement either :) back to being a lucky place again. Saw on the news there is another Ebola flare up, Guinea I think. Now that is one I'd get the vaccine for!

    How do you use grapes?

I finished off the last of the pie and jam today. The ducks got some pie, a bit too sweet for me to eat that much of. I didn't end up making biscuits but did a few little tarts. I cant can so the jam was just in the top of the fridge and didn't seem to degrade much. It was really nice and I have...

    Coronavirus Concern Up

Spoke too soon of our luck here. First community case detected in 10 months in a hotel security guard who caught it off returned travellers in quarantine. They traced his steps and put the whole city and surrounds into hard lockdown for 5 days. I am so, so, so relieved that I didnt go to that...

    What's for dinner?

Just picked a zucchini from the garden and made a zucchini slice with cheese, spring onion, capsicum and bacon. Far too hot to be in the kitchen this week. Set with leftovers for a few days :D

    How do you use grapes?

I thought you would!! 🤣 And I would probably have enough, but have managed to palm a fair few off to friends so maybe next year. I know the grapes are worth the effort in netting and caring for now. I dont have a freezer either, but if I put things in the top of the fridge, they sometimes...

    How do you use grapes?

Nice ideas :) I did not think of pies, but thats a great one for me to do :D As I dont have canning supplies or any special equipment. Grape juice sounds delish and maybe I could attempt to make a fresh one to drink today. I found an easy 3 ingredient jam recipe, but no jars for jam and Im not...

    Coronavirus Concern Up

Kinda surreal to see the rest of the world still increasing in cases. Its barely on the news here, but many forums friends are affected now. I am so lucky to live where I do, when the zombie apocalypse comes, we will be the safest place on the planet! Still no covid in my state, the economy...

    SS cafe

Feel well soon @baymule ! Its not too warm a day here but I got all hot and bothered picking grapes so I have turned the air con on while I decide what to do with them. My neighbour gave me some cherry tomatoes, silverbeet and a big spring onion. His place is like the food bowl of the town, I...

    How do you use grapes?

I just got in from fighting a drunk swarm of bees off my grape vine, managed to pick a nice basket size. I took some to my neighbour, and put the best ones in the top of the fridge in the hope they freeze for a nice snack. Now I have about 3 kilos left, probably less once I go through and give...

^^^ groan :P I got a new rug for the kitchen :D went to buy yarn to make a rug, but the rug I saw was cheaper than the cost of the yarn, better and just overall, nicer! Matches the curtains too :) I like this extra covid cash, but I better not get used to it!

    SS cafe

Started sorting me shed out. Going to try to do one box and one bag of rubbish per day. Hopefully I remember to go in there each day! Getting some movement in there might help stop the scary crawlies from making it a home.

    Bones clicking and popping.

This is great info! I was told excessive pain ( from clicking bits) was all in my head - a diagnosis of PMDD (luteal phase distress) and drugged. Hypermobility makes much more sense. My body overall is weaker without horses in my life, but the withdrawal from benzos (for the PMDD) would have...

    Coronavirus Concern Up

Not to mention the human cells... my congregation has given us information on which are acceptable for Christians, but stressed that it should be a personal choice. On a related note, the environment is not only used but also affected by societies medication use. This story has done the rounds...
