    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

Are you looking for something like this? Looks like you might be able to get them under $10 on Amazon. But hopefully the dollar tree as a good option! This might be a good dyi for garbage bags: I think hooks like these are fairly inexpensive too (but I don't know)

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

Yes, my little does not seem to be a cleaner "by nature". He's got that typical toddler boy destructiveness. But we do integrate cleaning his own toys up and as long as we're involved he's usually happy to do it, but it's definitely not something he ever initiates on his own. So he's not much...

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

Way to go Bee! You're leading by example here! I have not completed any of my organizational goals yet :( But I haven't given up! I know a kid-free afternoon is just waiting for a good paper sorting in my future somewhere...

What did you do in the garden today?

I've just made the decision to plant most of the old seeds for the chickens. I don't care if they don't grow - I just can't bare the thought of not giving them a chance  I wouldn't direct seed anything old in my garden as I wouldn't want to waste space there. But I would consider...

What did you do in the garden today?

I'm so bad, I have this lot of seeds from 2008-2012 and I really want to plant them. When you have space it's hard to say no....

Ah, I forgot your mom was so close. That's good, it's just nice to have someone close by. I was all by myself during the day once DH went back to work, and I found it pretty difficult as I never had more then 2 hour blocks of sleep. I'm very excited to have my parents close by next year. Winter...

Do you have any other help around? I know you're feeling well, but newborn care can be so exhausting...especially with other young kids in the mix.

    Were in for an adventure!

Congrats! My advice is to do whatever the h*ll you want ;) But in all seriousness: Take care of yourself, and use common sense along with government recommendations on pregnancy care. Many women get really guilty and nervous about what to eat, how they sleep, where they go etc etc. Especially...

In the same boat , guess you'll get hit a tiny bit later then me? Supposed to be turning to freezing rain within the hour actually. I'm worried about my DH drive home tonight. Going to be a skating rink out there. Oh and my sister had the baby. Preterm (I think 35) and had to be tranfered to...

Got it free - whatever it is??

Pallets are easy to come by here, but they're not the good quality ones they used to be. So we just stock up a truck load full sometime each year. And my DH will grab really good ones if he sees them.

I have to have some restrictions just so I can stay on top of it! I have acres and acres of hay fields that I could (try) to convert to garden space, so I have to have some sort of limit lol I think I'll work with these three areas this year: house garden ~540 sq ft clay garden 1250 sq ft...

Last year I planted some sunflowers, just sort of in different places around the fence line and such. The lovely bulbs that were planted around the house died, but that's because I cannot be bothered to dig up bulbs every fall; that level of work is only for the veggy garden.:) I planted some...

I'm trying to bury that feeling :hit But that's why I'm giving myself lots of time. And my ultimate goal is twenty members. I'm trying to give myself lots of room to fail so I don't overwhelm myself into thinking I can't do it. So ya, that's why I'm getting out the spreadsheets :)

Ah yes NH, sometimes I don't notice it until the sun comes out...just happened this week actually. Sunny day and all of a sudden I felt on top of the world! When things start to grow in the spring I get that feeling too. Luckily we have maple syrup in March to somewhat ease those winter blues...

You have a vision not a plan :) That works! I'm getting into a more specifics mindset because if I can, I'd love to start a CSA in less then 6 years time.

Yes, full year efficient garden plans are an exercise in math! I have a clipboard with graph paper and a calculator beside me lol I've got a few too many variables going on right now to worry about getting overly precise, so like you mentioned mini it's mostly about growing what you like to...

Ya I know! (on both comments lol) It's raining here right now, but it's going to be one of those weird nights where it actually get warmer all night long, so the only freezing rain issue is for people on the roads right now. One forecast for my area says: +8, +8, -14, -14 (C) and rain then...
