I've used toilet paper rolls in the past as well, but just for a couple plants. I currently have enough trays to start a greenhouse business, which is close to the truth as they were bought for my sister to start a farm here, but then she backed out. But I don't have a set up for starting seeds...
Sounds like things are coming together, that's great :) Winter prep is always a bit of an ordeal :\
Because of the gestational diabetes they won't let me sister go past 38.5 weeks, so there going to start inducing by sweeps week 37, which I think is near the end of January. Do you have any...
This. Like so many things in life, you end up with a new rhythm, new expectations.
No, the laughter is important! When she remembered, my mom started to write down some of the hilarious things my grandmother said or did. These are some of the stories you want to remember, because the rest can...
Ha, that's awesome NH, I feel like I keep discovering things we have in common lol.
Yes, time is a huge factor! It does make a difference if you're able to fix something on your lunch break with all the tools ready at hand.
We leased a vehicle for a few years because of the time factor, it's a...
Love it Bee
Just as a side question - if we pluck only, and don't know the fat content of our birds - will that effect cooking methods, i.e. could I unknowing cook it incorrectly even using low and slow? Or for older birds should we always skin?
Also it's so tough to know how a breed is going...
Glad your DH was able to help out with chores. You absolutely don't want to be straining anything, guess I might be feeling a little overprotective right now, but take of yourself!
And new vehicles are always fun :) We just sold (yesterday) my DH commuter beater, for a slightly better commuter...
I'm in the same boat, any selective breeding I do will just be in the natural course of keeping my flock. But I would like to incorporate a couple breeding/brooding rooms if I build a new coop. I figure I've got lots of years ahead of me. Who knows what improvements I may have in twenty+ years...
I need some of that motivation today sumi but I'm slow going this morning. Going to be having a toddler sleep over tonight because my friend will have to have surgery, so I'd better tackle this mess
I used to like doing challenges like that, spending or other, but then I realized that I didn't really enjoy it too much and was causing more stress as I would feel like I "failed" if I didn't meet my own goals.
And like NH I don't really spend a lot to begin with, I rarely go shopping except...
So the little one is napping, though probably not for much longer as I was holding him for a long time. I don't feel like cleaning anymore. My friend lost her twins today at 13 weeks. So I'm crying a lot. I will clean tonight though in case they need us to look after their son. And I may clean...
Great, we'll form a support group
And ya, caring for a parent is tough, particularly with Altzhimers. My grandmother lived at my parents house for several years during the advanced stages of Altzhimers and Dementia. She passed last year (the day after her 96th birthday).
Lol, Britsea, that is word for word what happens here.
Well, at least I'm not alone? :\ As per Bee's original post, I just feel so much better knowing where everything is. Mess is one thing, but disorganization can take a toll.
Even though it's just mess I will try and tackle the kitchen...
I wish I at least had an excuse There's really no good reason for our place to be in the state it is.
I've been on a bit of a high lately for thinking about future plans, doing some organizing, but not much has transferred to the house and I've crashed a bit today, which can be hard to deal...
I'm in choas(ish). The kitchen has had an overflow of dishes for over a week now. Our "office" space has become even more cluttered if that's possible; there's hardly any floor space. Our "playroom" has been left deserted and still has lego on the floor from the summer. The upstairs bathroom is...
Meant to write this yesterday:
mulched!
Got about 25'x50' done, may be all for this year but it's a start :) DH was able to pull out some old haybales for me with the tractor. Will be interesting to see if it does any good in the spring.
Nice Brite!
Do you usually stick to your favorite varieties?
I'd like to incorporate some perennials into my garden as well, just have to experiment a bit with the land first.
