I love Fedco, and they know how things grow here so I can follow their recommendations easily. I like Baker Creek but I have had better luck with Fedco, and their prices are better. They don't have as many funky colored things, so Baker Creek is where I go for fun stuff lol

I found a plant catalogue in the pub of all places the other day. Lovely roses and some berries and fruit trees. They sell fig trees! I've not seen a fig in any shape since I came to Ireland. I'm so tempted to buy a few trees (I want cherry, apple, fig, apricot (can get them from another company here)), but since I'm renting this house, I don't want to go overboard on spending on the garden, only to leave it behind when I move to my own place eventually.

Lol @baymule , yes you are an enabler :D

But ya, having a bit of extra money could go a long way around here, it can be a bit tough raising a family on one (mechanics) income these days. But, we're fine if I don't get a job, though I would love to spend a bit more on repairs around this place and be able to put something into the chickens and garden.

And other then local growers, I think I'll try William Dam Seeds this year.

My garden is 30x60, with all raised beds. One bed has asparagus, which hopefully will give us our first decent cuttings this spring, and 2 are planted in strawberries. For the rest, I grow:
Peas-english
favas - Masterpiece
kale- Russian Red
broccoli- Umpqua
cabbage
beets - Cylindra
green beans - Landreth
Winter squash- Delicata (I found a dwarf variety!)
Summer squash- Golden Custard
peppers, sweet - King of the North
peppers, hot - Serrano
Stinging Nettle
Tomato - Roma
Plantain
Radish - Rat Tail and globe
spinach - Galilee
Pulse bean- Cicerchia
Chard - Rainbow

and whatever else I can squeeze in

Nice Brite!
Do you usually stick to your favorite varieties?

I'd like to incorporate some perennials into my garden as well, just have to experiment a bit with the land first.
