@baymule Aww, you are too kind! :hugs For what these excuses are worth :D not only does BYC keep me busy but I had to go back to work and at my age, I come home so drained I have little time for anything. I will stop by here more frequently. :)
Yes as said above there should be a lever somewhere to act as a damper so you can shut the doors. Its ok to leave the doors open when starting the fire, but you don't want all the heat going up the stove pipe. So shut the doors and open the damper completely. When the fire has lite everything...
We heat with wood, have a generator for back up power, an outhouse and a well for water. We used to keep a year or more worth of dried and canned goods in the house, not as much these days however. Several bales of Alfalfa hay in the barn to keep the chickens alive quite a long time should I be...
I'm definitely too old to crochet on the floor. I might be able to get up!. Great idea Sumi, a table would work well. :) Calista, sawhorses is a wonderful idea too, anything to hold it up! :-)
I have seen the micro crochet too. I have never tried any of them, the tiny hooks are difficult to use! Ha!
I do love the rug though. I would imagine you would have to sit on the floor and crochet when it started to get big? :D Huge spaces needed to work on it. :)
Wow some beatiful crochet on this thread! Not so sure I am as good as all of you. I have dabbled in it all my life but never truly mastered it. Here is some if my lastest work...

Some of this mud come spring could swallow an entire car. :gig
Sumi, are you trying to butter me up to come dust or clean your place? :gig
I am just teasing. :hugs
Speaking of wood, time to dust up the house, I mean clean out the wood stove!
Yeah it is....ha! I am such a clean freak and all other aspects of my home are immaculate. However you could write wash me/clean me on any surface all the time around here. :ya
We heat exclusively with a wood stove in the winter. I couldn't live without a wood stove in the house. I grew up with one and it is the only way to heat. I love how it heats up everything in the house unlike a furnace that blows warm air around only dissipate moments later. We live on the edge...
Hello there and welcome to SS!! :frow
I recognize you from BYC! :-) Yes, google is our friend! I don't know how we got along before the internet. :th
Enjoy all your adventures! :-)
Yay!! I am so glad this is all happening for you Sumi! This has been a long time in the making and I hope you can get through this last push and get on with your new life! :-)
