Funny coincidence. I was just thinking yesterday as I fed our goats and rabbits that their hay is almost the same. :)
I'm giving the dairy goats alfalfa/orchard. I give the rabbits premium orchard (cause they're snobs - lol, jk). I was thinking that I could probably give the rabbits the...
I'm one who is more leery about studding, although, I need to. I just need to learn more so I do it right. Let me explain.
My young son purchased some Toggenburg dairy goats to learn and show for 4H. We unexpectedly moved just a few months later. The nutty woman 'in charge' of our last...
Okay, I'm back from a long trip and have the time. I know which animals I'm going to cull. I'm going to process several rabbits and two tom turkeys. I want to make sausage. :D
My main (mental) obstacle? I can't figure out or decide which casing to buy or where to buy them. :/ I want to...

Hmmm. Interesting thread. :)
I would follow the advice of the recipe authors if you can't find any answers about tincturing time. Not that I know anything about those things but you don't want to burn your hair off or anything. :P
I might go out to the orchard today with the kids to...
 Great stories, all. And thank you. After driving home from 'cross the country and seeing many, many examples of roadkill ( :sick ), I'll certainly think before passing up a whole, beautiful, fresh animal. :P
Alright, this might be an odd subject to be in this section but here goes anyway. Don't laugh (too hard).
Yes, I'm asking about road kill - how, what, when to eat and what not to.
I've been a city/suburban girl for most of my life but while serving a mission in rural Washington...
Aaaw, I'm glad your family like it. Perhaps your husband will suggest you buy a dough hook. :) My husband will clean the entire kitchen for me so I will make this bread. ;)
Interesting insights here. :)
I did slice the shaped dough of my last batch and I like the way it turned out. Beautiful. I think I'll try adding moisture to the oven next time.
I, too, thought there was a huge amount of yeast in this recipe but it's really less than one yeast packet per...
Awesome. I'm going to try making those crackers. I LOVE wheat thins and have been wanting a good recipe for them. :)
Today I have made 4 loaves of wheat bread and one batch (4 dozen) chocolate chip cookies.
Later, I'm making apple juice and canning it. Also, canning chicken broth and...
Aw, thanks, deb4o. :) So, did anyone try making the bread? How'd it go?
Ya know, just as an fyi, I seem to get a weird side split on my loaves. I slit the dough in the pans when I made more early this morning and that solved the problem. I got prettier loaves.
Well, we just did our budget and we're short. We cut down and out as much as possible. So I should have a lot to share in the next two weeks.
So far today.....I made 4 loaves of bread for sandwich making for the kids' lunches and morning toast. I made one batch of chocolate chip cookies...
Vent it 45 minutes before I put on the weight and begin the canning time?
Tanks, I suspect they're still soaking some up but it's clear that the liquid is being pushed out of the jars during the canning process because the water in the canner has bean "juice" in it when canning is done...
A few friends asked me to share this recipe with them so I published in on my blog. Thought someone here might like to use it, too. I make 4 loaves at a time.

I let my pressure canner vent steam for the full 10 minutes, I have canned both the beans both cold and hot. I'm still loosing liquid from the jars no matter what changes I make. I'm not sure how to fix this problem. :barnie
Can anyone help me?
ETA: I'm canning pinto beans, black beans...
I don't hold him down per say. First, drop in some ear mite liquid and massage the base of the ear. The liquid will soften/loosen the gunk. With the rabbit sitting in your lap, open up the ear so you have a good view and begin to swab in an outward (out of the ear) motion with a q-tip.
Even...
