I like your fence. I've been eyeing a stand of bamboo near our church that is always overgrown. It would be great for a fence like that. Might be a project for next spring.
I had wondered why you wore such a long coat to build your fence. Itmade more sense at the end of the video! Welcome (back)...
It does tend to be hard to "go back to breast feeding". It's an entirely different way of moving the mouth for the baby, so it can be difficult for her to switch from one kind of feeding to the other. But she's still getting the benefits, and it's certainly nice for Daddy to be able to feed her...
It will be nice hearing about your garden growing while ours are at the end of our year. I've got the last of my peppers to pull in tonight, and house plants to move inside. We're expecting a killer frost tonight.
Yes, oregano is in the mint family. We have both growing here also. I need to do a study on what's native to here, since I've only been here 2 1/2 years (we've had the property 3 years.)
We have the same goal as you regarding having things blooming as early and as long as possible with a great...
Ah, here I go again... Off on another rabbit trail! I'm clueless as to what A2A2 milk is, so I'll have to go do some researching.
I DO like Jerseys, and it's been a hope of mine for quite a while to get one of my own. As far as I can tell, A2A2 is an extra protein? I've been reading up a lot...
@flowerbug will cosmos reseed themselves? I had forgotten about cosmos, and I'm glad you brought it up.
When we first bought this property, bees were high on our list, and we've been trying to add more bee friendly plants every year. We want to start our own hive, but we want to make sure there...
Welcome from Alabama. I don't remember anyone mentioning that we love pictures! :D
I'm hoping you'll share more on your beekeeping. We've been planning on adding bees for a while now. Maybe this spring now that my husband will be retiring.
I hope what you're able to plant and grow translates...
@flowerbug , we make our own compost and fertilizer and worm beds too. The year before last, we found an ad advertising free 2 year old hay. It was over 30 of the big round bales, some already starting to break down. We brought back every bale he had and used it all over the property. I made...
Good tools are missed when they finally fall apart. I just brought some of my Dad's old tools home. He died 8 years ago, but I found them in the garage. The best already got picked but I chose every one I could find that needed new handles (something my dad would have fixed if he was still...
I never liked Red delicious...... UNTIL I lived in Washington State and got them fresh. They are wonderful fresh, but don't necessarily travel or store well.
I grew up with my grandma's old McIntosh apple tree and they were my all-time favorite, but current ones that I can buy usually are too...
I don't really have many problems with the changes when I pull up SS on the computer, but it seems to be harder when I use my phone that it was before. And although we have LOTS more emoji's to choose from, I lost a few of my old favorites. But, like most things, I guess we'll get used to it...
@CrealCritter do you know what kind of flower it usually has earlier in the year? I'm thinking it might be a form of honeysuckle, but there are so many different kinds that I'm not sure. Some honeysuckle berries are edible, and some aren't, but I also watch to see if animals and birds eat them...
Just curious, but why don't you want to burn them? I burn wood like that and then use a large magnet to pick up all the nails. Then the ashes can be put in the compost bin, garden, or chicken dusting area.
Could you start a compost pile with them? That wood is already decaying and could create...
Both breeds are intelligent and loyal, and are good companion dogs. Trained properly, Clyde should be a great service dog. My niece's service dog for her PTSD was a pit too and was a wonderful dog.
