LOL- don't think I haven't thought about it! He really is pretty nice- well put together, a good head on his shoulders, nice bone, compact. Would be a pretty nice cross with my TB mare I was trying to get rid of this past spring. I think he's too heavy (and smallish) to put with my Oldenburg...
Well, I posted that at 1pm- when I finally came in to eat something besides coffee (yes, coffee is a food group :D ). The food is settled into my stomach, my blood sugar is higher, and the hay bale finally made it into the barn. I didn't ask how.
And, our neighbor came over - the nice...
I may be on the verge of murder... We are under the hurricane threat. It will give us high wind gusts and much much rain. Which is liable to bring down trees since the ground is pretty saturated already. We have lots of trees that might come down on the house, the chicken coop and the barn...
Kingsfarm- I hear you about my kids never actually having to deal with hard times. I sheltered them from any that I had raising them for the most part, and they have my ex's example on how to NOT do without! But, I think I raised them to think and work and, if it occurs to them that...
But, the drug dealers weaken a society that might be inclined to think for themselves- something the government really doesn't want. Pretty soon it may be time to get a small cow. Or goats.

I found the nut cracker recipe. Although, now that I think about it, jam isn't a good thing for diabetes, either. Sorry! I can only hold one thought in my head at a time about food intolerances, apparently!
Ah- what about nut based crackers? I see them in the store. (I bought them once for my gluten intolerant BIL. Then once we were home I realized he is allergic to nuts, too! :P )
:yuckyuck And probably true! I would do the salt water soak and rinse rinse rinse the salt flavor off. And I would NOT tell my SO! Or, alternatively, the chickies would love blackberries with the added protein of worms  But, I would try the salt water first.
SS- are you gluten intolerant? There are recipes out there for home made gluten free crackers. They sound so good I may try them myself, even though I am not intolerant of the store bought stuff. I will look around for the recipes. I don't think I bookmarked them.
Well, I think the soap is going to wait. I decided to drag the pasture while I had the tractor out to put the round bale in for the beasts. So, I am already behind! And I just discovered I must eat something- a couple of hot dogs won't take long. And, I have a lot more laundry than I thought I...
Ouch! Heal up quickly! Silly dog.
I love making soap- it is finally cool enough to start up again here, at least for awhile, until Indian Summer arrives. I love that Zoe is a good critter dog- and it sounds like she already has the goats' number! :D
Oh, wow. How lovely! The shelves and the food, and everything!! I covet storage space. For a big house, this place just doesn't have any place to store ANYTHING! I have big time shelving envy :bow
I would love an indoor winter garden- just think, real veggies when there is snow on the ground! What are wonderberries?
Good luck selling/processing the chickens. It might be nice to get down to half and not have to feed them all winter!
I am feeling so domesticated to day, I can't stand myself! Thursdays are my day off -by myself- to do whatever I want to do. I usually go riding with friends, but I think I am going to cancel today since I have so much on my to-do list. So, what am I doing on the computer :caf This is me- need...
