    am still drooling over your crock, Gina. ok, so I can make kraut in the crock and transfer to jars in 3 days. can't wait. keep your fingers crossed that I can fit this all in this weekend, along with the rat, the garlic, the hay, and the coop. geesh.

    guess I'm going to be doing some cleaning out of the frig this weekend! I do have some larger jars, maybe a few gallon sizes. guess its time to do a search on kraut to make sure it goes ok. thanks for the help!

    that is soo disappointing. I'll have to do some research and see if I can make it in quart jars instead of the crock. I could keep maybe 4 -6 jars in the frig which is already overflowing with apples. I would dig a root cellar but the water table is so high on my land.
