lemon balm is one of my favorite herbs - bees love it, it is great in pound cake or sugar cookies, makes the absolute best tea when you have a cold. I was going to try to make some lemon balm candy drops, like cough drops, but didn't get to it before the frost.
With everyone's additions...

you have my sympathies.
though my daughter is now 28, i still vividly remember the time when she was about 4, and vomiting. On the bed, on me - took her into the shower with me to get us both cleaned up - all clean and she was sick on the laundry basket with all the clean towels - got the...
oh.my.gosh
that was a fabulous link - watched the whole thing, and am so pumped to go make a rug. There was a pic of a really big, really colorful one - can't wait to hit up a thrift store for fabric.
lol, just what I need is another project.
thanks for posting the link. or...maybe not...
just want to remind you OFG, that first it was the peaches, and now, months later, its the pumpkin pie!
got the pumpkin baking in the oven right now.
dang.
its 10:30 am and I've got no call to sit here on the computer.
but, it is pouring rain outside, and so all my plans for today were outdoor chores. It is chilly, no heat on in the house yet and since it is infloor heat, it will take 3 days or so to warm up the house.
if I got off my duff I...
ya know, it is pouring here, which dashes my plans for spreading hay in the garden, and yes, planting the garlic......

Hi Free,
just read thru the entire piggie thread - how cool that you've had such success and worked so hard at getting good food for the pigs.
not much longer before you get to enjoy the results!
am hoping for pigs next year - plans to get them this spring fell through, but now I am glad...
wow, that is a score! around here, a yard of yucky knit fabric all poly is like 2 bucks, your waveryly fabric would have been around $10. So nice!
and I like your rug in the background, the little round one. Did you crochet it?
hmmm. I think I might have to try the live trap as I can't figure out where in the coop or the huge chicken yard the chickens wouldn't be - don't want to catch one of them in the rat trap.
haven't seen any rat holes anywhere
I walked the perimeter, but didn't see anything suspicious -...
am still drooling over your crock, Gina.
ok, so I can make kraut in the crock and transfer to jars in 3 days.
can't wait.
keep your fingers crossed that I can fit this all in this weekend, along with the rat, the garlic, the hay, and the coop.
geesh.
really? can a rat carry an egg? I was wondering if maybe it could be a skunk, given that there has been skunk smell around.
I did an internet search on rats, since the last time I saw a rat was in 1976 ( yeah, yeah, yeah, I know some of you weren't even born then) - wouldn't there be...
guess I'm going to be doing some cleaning out of the frig this weekend! I do have some larger jars, maybe a few gallon sizes.
guess its time to do a search on kraut to make sure it goes ok.
thanks for the help!
that is soo disappointing.
I'll have to do some research and see if I can make it in quart jars instead of the crock. I could keep maybe 4 -6 jars in the frig which is already overflowing with apples.
I would dig a root cellar but the water table is so high on my land.
