What exactly is there that's weather-specific to discuss?
I mean, how would whatever discussion you keep trying to get going look any different than SS type discussions in general or vis-a-vis other problems (food shortages, civil strife, transportation breakdown, individual natural disasters...
Thursday's list (supposed to be milder weather):
-- call next door, see if kids free to play with mine after school DONE (they came over before dinner)
-- tidy up enormous pile of misc clothing now occupying corner of bedroom from when I was desperately trying to find a reasonably-presentable...
Unless you live alone, do laundry daily, or are a nudist, I would recommend that if your posts are only 8' tall you use the T design with multiple parallel lines. Reason being, 8' posts give you only 5' sticking aboveground once they're set (you *could* sneak it back to 6' aboveground if you...
I wasn't homeschooled as such (but did get most of the more-useful parts of my education at home rather than at school LOL), but when I was a kid mom would start the summer with a big list of trips/activities on the kitchen blackboard, each of which had a point value; and a corresponding list of...
Too darn hot today, although at least there is supposed to be some breeze. But the house only got down to 75 F overnight and outdoor temps will be well into the 90s, plus which (the real kicker) although tomorrow will be cool, *tonight* it's still supposed to be 85 F at midnight. Every now and...
There has always been freaky weather. That is one of the distinguishing things of weather in fact as opposed to say plate tectonics or watching paint dry :P Sucks when the weather is freaky in your location in ways inconvenient for you, but worrying about it is like worrying about gravity.
It...
The reason there's no section here devoted to animals is that there are two whole sister SITES devoted to animals (BYC and BYH) :P
I went with sheep primarily because they're a bit easier to fence in (although have the same requirements for SERIOUSLY fencing predators OUT) and because I think...
Chicken-fried pork works fine, I make that sometimes.
More often with that type cut I will dry the meat and lightly flour it, then pan-fry quickly to brown both sides, then put in a few Tbsp of juice or broth or leftover soup or something like that, with complementary flavorings (curry powder...
Gee, musta been a slow news day :P
I do that frequently if the meat is thin enough. As gettinaclue says, you have to be careful the water isn't *so* hot that it cooks the outer layer of meat, although you can certainly still eat it that way, it's just a bit tougher IME.
The problem for me is...
Tuesday (going to be hot)
-- drive to Newmarket, hit grocery store and get stuff for painting ceiling, altho I'm not likely to be able TO paint the ceiling til the weather changes DONE
-- BEFORE it gets too hot, find primer and a roller sleeve, and put primer+sand on boards for dog agility...
There is no "only". Playing with a baby all day is *fine* :)
You realize you're completely nuts, yes? LOL :) I was with you up to "tear down wall during baby's naptime"
Have fun, enjoy the baby, hope you got maybe one or two other things done too but if not there's always tomorrow :),

Oh yes, excellent point -- I was thinking of hot by our household standards (which with our hot water heater is just "kind of warm" :P) -- absolutely you would not want to put HOT-hot water anywhere they could directly drink it!!

It's so tasty when you whizz frozen raspberries in the blender with some milk or cream, abi, I bet it would be MARVELLOUS if you added cocoa to it. Chocolate-raspberry! (In fact I think I know what I'm doing tonight after dinner...! LOL)
Pat
Remember they don't need water overnight. Therefore it may make more sense to either dump the (by then possibly iced anyway) waterer when you close things up for the evening, or take the (getting icy) waterer into the house with you overnight to thaw.
In addition, you can get a certain amount...
Monday:
-- Bt the apple trees and remove tent caterpillar web, which I keep forgetting about!! FINALLY DONE!
-- finish ("ish") transplanting turf from under pine tree to E side of house AS DONE AS IT'S GETTING FOR NOW
-- hill up remaining potatoes DONE
-- use rest of compost to plant...
Yup, I occasionally find mother in older bottles of Heinz pasteurized a/c vinegar too. Usually with a big "splat!" LOL
I can't imagine any reason it *wouldnt* work as a starter for "vinegarizing" cider. That's a good idea, I'd like to try it sometime too, do it and let us know what happens! :)

Today's list is basically what I didn't get done yesterday:
-- clean the heck out of the lower half of the drainage ditch system with the weedwhacker DONE
-- take MASSIVE shower to get resulting mud and ditch-water out of all pores of body, hair, nostrils, ears, etc etc DONE (bleh!)
--...
He does look QUITE a lot more STB than QH, although I can certainly understand STBs not even being on your mental radar when looking at generic horses in your part of the world.
That's great that you've taken such good care of him and I'm glad he's turned out to be such a good horse for you! :)...
Weekend list:
-- clean the heck out of the lower half of the drainage ditch system with the weedwhacker
-- take MASSIVE shower to get resulting mud and ditch-water out of all pores of body, hair, nostrils, ears, etc etc
-- notch out other deck post (did one Fri evening) DONE
-- go to...
I fully agreed they may well add it to SOME commercial ice creams.
And that is ALL that your articles say. They do not claim it's added to all of 'em.
