    Nasturtium-leaf pesto!

Have some in my freezer right now. It is awesome on pasta or mixed with cream cheese. Got the idea after having a party using nasturium leaves stuffed with flavored cheese and finding my girlfriend hiding behind a door with the tray just gobbling them down, so funny. I use garlic, parm, evoo and...

I used to sprout arugala and could sniff that smoky perfume for hours. Put on pizza after you cook it, use it as lettuce on a sandwich, excellent on a BLT. Arugala, and goat cheese salad yummy.

    Eggs during worming

I don't routinely worm my chickens but noticed unusual behavior and had a death. When 2 barred rock girls stood at the back door and were yawning and gaping I didn't know what it was but that was what the pullet that died did only once that I witnessed. Thank God for the internet and sites like...

    Eggs during worming

Worming is 3 days of 3cc to a gallon of water for 3 days. It is for goats and the bottle says do not slaughter for meat for 6 days after dosing so I imagine 9 days for eggs also. I would think they would be in sync.

Here I sit with 21 eggs on the counter. I am worming with safeguard goat wormer, Is there any reason some animal could not eat these? Maybe find someone with a dog or goat that could use 100 plus eggs until they are safe to consume and sell again. Such a waste.

Any one else from the great state of Tennessee?

Grandkids live too far away to visit much unfortunately. Growing new things every year because we moved from Illinois and not as long a season. Since we are in a similiar area I'll tell you what I have had success with if you are interested.

She does cook basic dishes. I wanted to include chipotle powder but not sure she would use it. I am a Penzey addict and grow some of my own. Never thought it would be hard to choose as I make almost everything from scratch and I know not that many young working gals have time. I will include a...

THE OFFICIAL GARDENING AND PRESERVING CHALLENGE

Last year I had the worst growing pepper and tomato starts. I purchased an organic fertilized potting soil. Everything was stunted and took forever to come out of it. I harvested green tomatoes from the garden letting them ripen inside. This year got my old standby cheap Hyponex potting soil and...

Had a devil of a time with pantry moths last year, seems they were coming in in my brown rice and oatmeal. Now those go from shopping bag to freezer for a week. Also made homemade traps by putting brown rice and mule team borax in a tuna can, worked very well set in the back of cabinets. Since...
