I have a large hurricane lamp, and have been trying to figure out since the wick holder advancer piece (that's the technical name LOL) is curved should I trim the wick in a curve or straight across for better efficiency?
Exactly, I am not looking at it as preparing for some ax to fall as getting myself as off the grid as I can, and establishing a more self-sufficient in tune with nature lifestyle. Just so happens that those things make you able to handle most anything!! :D

During the last big storm some one wiped out our mailbox set up - ours and two neighbors. DH built a lovely new set up for all three boxes. So we have two metal mailboxes, rusted and pretty banged up.
