Um, yeah. I'd love a few acres, but no running water would be a deal breaker for me. You have every right to complain! I wish I could pack up some sunshine and send it your way.

BTW, I think "bought the farm" means a person has died. I'm sure you are not that bad off.

NO RUNNING WATER???? I'd be outta there before the next heartbeat. But if your dh doesn't feel the same, then that makes life a lot more awkward. Is there running water in your future on the 7 acres? What's wrong with the trailer that you don't like? Can you do something about it?

DH doesn't agree about downsizing the amount of land - meaning, he wants 6+ acres if we were to move, I'm happy with 2-3 acres.

We're hoping to put a well in this year :fl but we'll see. No running water hasn't been that big of an issue, really. It'd be easier if there were access to water on this place. I'd even be happy with a hand pump on a water source, just so the water was on my own place.

Trailer - it's not that there is anything wrong with it. I am just feeling cramped up. I've actually started going through the house today and setting things aside to get rid of - in hopes of making it feel like we have more space - stuff we're not using, etc.

We're talking about trying to build out - add on a living room so my kitchen/diningroom/livingroom aren't all just one room.

I'm done complaining. Complaining gets nothing done, but I'm certainly going to be working towards making some changes in 2010!

ETA: Don't worry, tomorrow is Auction Day - Special Auction sale for President's Day - I'm getting out of here for a day - taking some rabbits to sell - and tomorrow I think I'll be back to normal and not feeling so stupid!

Ahhh, new diagnosis. You don't have Cabin Fever, you have the affliction that I so often have to contend with: IWantItDoneAndIWantItDoneNow-itis. I have NO patience, so when I see all the stuff that isn't done yet on our five year plan (almost three years into it!), I get itchy, scratchy, antsy-pantsy.

IMHO, you're doing the right thing, focusing on what you CAN do at this point in time, and planning for the future.

And you shouldn't feel stupid at all. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who is awed by your ability to live without running water and stay upbeat about it.

May I be so nosy as to ask what you do for water?? Do you have it shipped in (my uncles has a tanker come in once a month and fill his water tank).

I don't have cabin fever so much as the kids REEEEAAAlly need to go back to school fever!!

Aly, just go outside and make a snow angel! :weee

Then come in and cuddle your new chickies!
:th
Dang! Here I am trying to get outta the dirty city and you wanna get back to it?!?
I would trade you, but, my DFiance' doesn't want to move any further North than what we are now. I am going stir crazy, here, in the dirty city, because we cannot have anything here, where we are, as we live in Public Housing!

Honestly - do you want to replace what you have with rude people, less grass, tall buildings, dirty air, etc ?

We are looking for somewhere near here, tho.........:p

No, we drive 5-11 miles to get our water - depending on where we're going to get it. Not that sufficient, really.

Since the White Death, melting snow for animal water to conserve our house water. It's a pain.

country freedom - no, I don't really want to live in the city. A farm in a warmer climate would be ideal :p
