I think it was at Value Village, rather than Goodwill, but I found a couple of high-end stainless steel pans for maybe $10 per pan, it seemed like a fair price to me and I am always collecting cooking utensils, pans, etc. so I picked them up . . . then I saw the same brand pans new in a store...
Funny . . . I used to shop at Value Village all the time, but their prices have gone up here, so now I am going to Goodwill more often . . . they also have a better selection at Goodwill these days. A new Goodwill store opened where there used to be a retail chain store that went out of...
I can't believe you guys are STILL talking about this.
(I can laugh because I've been having a hard time keeping up on any current events, because I pretty much live in a cave 24/7 now -- with chocolate of course, or I'd be mental by now).
I prefer to incubate if I want to get a decent hatch. You have to be careful that you calibrate your thermometer and your hygrometer before you start, and it might depend upon your incubator too . . . but I have had excellent results with a homemade incubator and also with a purchased...
Yes, Dace, I believe that is what it is. I can't remember what it is called. :P
My favorite way to have broccoli is slathered in hollandaise (sp?) sauce.
Well, because my child was vulnerable to pertussis before he was vaccinated I kept him at home. I don't expect that a vaccinated population is going to protect him, because I know that the vaccine wears off and adults run around sneezing and coughing without covering their mouths or washing...
I think eggplant is one of those vegetables you either love or hate. :)
Oh, I just saw your edit about your eggplants. I love homegrown eggplant! We can only grow small ones here. Can you grow the big ones in CA? I never salt eggplant and let it weep (or whatever the correct cooking term...
LOL No kidding. That was what I thought. I was mortified! Unfortunately couldn't really concentrate on anything besides dealing with contractions and trying to relax. :P
I'm not saying EVERY midwife would do that. I'm saying that you want to tell your midwife about your concerns and your expectations BEFORE you are in labor. Because once you are in labor you are probably not going to say much and it could cause you to unconsciously hold back/slow down labor...
Only if your child is in contact in such a way as to transmit the disease.
So I skip Hep B vaccination . . . my child cannot transmit the disease unless 1) he picks it up and 2) he interacts with others in such a way as to transmit it. But until he is old enough to have sex or do...
But by your logic moolie, I should be vaccinating myself for Hep B and HIB etc. to protect the weakest members of society. No one has asked me to do that, but I am under-immunized, so I am basically a threat to everyone else's children for those diseases? :idunno I don't spend much time...
I just remembered something I wanted to add to this thread, so I am resurrecting it.
I believe you (Kala) said you work in the medical field? You may then relate to what I have to say:
When my midwife arrived when I was in active labor, she came in the door, came to see me and immediately...
Dace, I can't remember if you eat pasta or not, but once I had the best pasta that had eggplant and arugula in it. I didn't even know what arugula was at that time in my life (I was just out of college and living in the city). LOL :lau But I wanted to know how to make the dish it was so...
At the end of the day you have to do what you feel is right for you and your child. Inevitably you will find the information that you feel justifies your viewpoint . . . even if you think you are not being biased. ;) That is just human nature, I think.
Do what you feel is right and don't...
Yes, Elijahboy, there are both types. I am really sorry you have experienced the negative type. I know those sort of people can spoil your outlook on EVERYONE you meet after that for a very long time. I hope you are lucky enough to meet some wonderful people who will rekindle your...
I just wanted to chime in with my 2 cents. :)
I personally am researching each vaccine and making a decision based upon ingredients, risks if the disease is contracted, and risks of vaccinating.
But I honestly understand the view point of those who choose to not vaccinate at all . . . it is...
