I live in a rural neighborhood too - big lots and lots of space between us and our neighbors.
We live at the front of the neighborhood where everyone passes us to go in or out. I used to worry about how it looks. We try not to be slobs, but sometimes, we're too busy doing something to care...
This is the method i am getting ready to use.
I want to know, when you put it in the blender and add water, should try to add as little water as possible? Or can you add water to pump up your volume? I don't have very many apples, so it won't make too much, but when i'm done, i'll have the...
I'm not sure if this is the right section.
I've been reading some about foraging and eating green brier stalks.
Has anyone here done this?
I would like advice.
After reading about how to harvest them, i went outside with my trusty basket, but everything i found was either too small (i'm...
I should have remembered ginger. Years ago, when i started getting air sick, i used to take ginger root capsules before take off and landing, and it helped a lot.
Thanks everyone for your input. I'm going to have to see if my store has the candied ginger for sure. And get some planted in the...
Word. :thumbsup
That said, i think that the one of the great things about getting back to basics and living off the land as much as we can is that doing what benefits us and our personal resources the most also benefits our environment the most.
I rebel against things like "earth day,"...

I found one thing i was willing to try to consume on http://tipnut.com/12-home-remedies-for-nausea/ this site.

I have mailed cookies - to my husband when he was in the military. And my mother mails me cookies every year about this time. The main thing with cookies is packaging so they don't fall apart if they're brittle.
I think i would be concerned with the pound cake. During the winter months, it...
I'm pretty sure the things about using google to make money are really just helping you make the business you already have generate more traffic and ad business. Unless you have some sort of specialty and have sought employment from google, i think they're expecting you to already have your own...
I think i agree with k0xxx.
We prepare for economic collapse by making ourselves independent of money - as much as we can. Sadly, there are very few of us who are quite there. But every step closer is good, and every step closer is a little bit more independence from the almighty doomed dollar.
Have you seen this one?

I have an old Betty Crocker Cookbook, and i was hoping....but to no avail.
I really hope you find your lost recipe. I know the feeling.
:hugs
I had the best cookbook ever, and it can only be purchased in a little town in Michigan. My mother has gifted it to me twice! And twice i have lost...
I don't know what your experience is, so i'm just throwing this out there. Sometimes folks who have generally always eaten store-bought bread are expecting their homemade bread to be as airy and fluffy. Generally, it won't be. Part of the goodness of homemade bread is its density...
