You might want to consider getting some solar yard lights installed so your "runway" is clear and lit at night, in case of the zombie apocalypse, or bobcats, or playful dogs.
There's two ways of letting it breathe - one is this, where you take out a glassful. The other is to put it into decanter. Either way, the point is to expose as much surface area as possible.
Note - if you have flies or fruitflies, you can put a towel over the top just to keep them out.

I actually found an apron pattern at the fabric store where the pieces and instructions were printed directly on the fabric, with the pocket and straps and everything. So all you had to do was cut out and assemble. I bought it - figuring it would be a great way to start.
