I have my Grandmother's Krumkaka and Rosette- I know I didn't spell that right- irons. Do they count. They were her mothers so they have now gone through four generations. I don't know if you can count them as an appliance though.
I agree Pioneergirl it is nice to be involved in something as great as this.
I think that the fact that we respect one athother is a big factor in our ability to get along so well. Thanks for pointing it out though.
I also have found that this is the forum I go to most often. It has the...
Same problem here, but I hate shoes!! Even in Minnesota I wear flip flops all year yound!! I got yelled at today for having shoes on at work that were too casual. In other words I had sandals on again. Oh well! I will get out real shoes, after all we had snow yesterday! :P
2dream - that is kinda what I did - before I really added anything to the foods I would grind up the baby food and then add the butter, or salt and pepper or whatever to our food. We did introduce things slowly and started with things like carrots, squash, peas, and that kind of thing. It must...
Quail- I do love my labs!! They are real sweethearts my girls. Very protective, won't let a stranger around my boys for nothing! They are funny though, the black lab is the youngest. She is going to be 4 on Jan. 1. She is afraid of our free ranging chickens. If they are in the back yard...
When my boys were young I made all of thier baby food. I never froze it, just took whatever we were having and ran it through a small food grinder that my mother had given me. It worked great and saved a ton of money!!
Ticks- what a thoughtful, responsible, and strong young man you are! I know it has been said here before but you should be very proud of yourself and all you have accomplished. You are someone your peers and elders could learn alot from. Keep up all the hard work and you will go far!!
Sorry Pioneergirl - I hit the submit button a little too soon I guess!! Thanks so much for the welcome back. I am glad things are starting to settle down. I have missed alot and I just keep reading and learning and reading and learning! I love it! I even sneaked on during my lunch hour at...

I learned how to use a pressure canner just a few weeks ago. My mom came over for the weekend and we canned 36 quarts of chicken. It is very good. I had always been afraid to pressure can but once I had done it, it really wasn't that big of a deal. I guess I too will be adding to my pantry...
My favorite is Deer hunting, This year my youngest, who is eight has been coming out to the stand with me. The bow hunting season has started, I do not bow hunt but I like to go sit in the stand to see what is moving through the area. My DH and oldest son bow hunt. So far my two younger boys...
About how much salt did you add? Is there a recipe that you followed? I might try doing a little research on the net to find out about adding the peanut oil. Do you have any idea how long it will keep. I am sorry for throwing all these questions at you. It's just that I am so interested...
My boys LOVE peanut butter and I never imagined it would be that simple to make. Is it really that easy? Did it gum up in your processor. I think of it as very thick and sticky and bsing impossible to clean. Am I making it harder than it is?? Maybe we could try it. I could see my youngest...
