Thanks ya'll. Aunt is suppose to be moving to my property a little closer to where I live now. Still 90 miles away but I can make it there in about an hour and 15 minutes. Its all interstate and I my guardian angel seems to be able to fly as fast as I drive. LOL
Plus my daughter and grandbaby are living there in the house so at least they will be close to her. She will stay with my daughter until the trailer is set back up and we have all the utilities run. The only problem is she refuses to leave until her trailer does. She has a house in a little town further south of where she is now but there is not a soul close by and the house has been setting up empty for almost 2 years. Since she never learned to drive she is totally dependent upon somone else taking her everywhere she needs to go.

The problem right now is that all the movers seem to be booked up this week after all the months of rain. No one can get to her until next week and the rain is suppose to start again Tuesday. :barnie

MP - I would have to go through an act of congress to get a trailer here. The county won't let anyone bring a mobile home into an area zoned as residential with out a release signed by all the neighbors agreeing to it plus then you have to go before the supervisors and prove hardship. Which takes months and then still no guarantees. But because I am already having trouble with one of the neighbors I know they won't sign the release. And that will stop the whole thing as it has to be 100%

Oh and she hates dogs and cats and chickens, etc. She has major phobias. I call it Howard Hughes syndrom. Love her dearly but she is a strange duck. Hard for me to believe that she grew up chopping cotton, milking cows and swimming in the pasture pond.

But it will all be ok. I keep telling myself that.

Chicken update. I discovered today that I have between 6 and 10 chickens missing. I have not done a head count in ages. (when you have as many as I do its really hard to keep up with all of them). But after all the things that have been going on DH and I went to the big house to count heads. I only have 13 chickens in one section that I know had at least 18 plus I just realized today that one of my Silkie roosters is missing. So this weekend we will be doing a total head count and taking pictures of all the birds.
I hate this getting home after dark. But not much I can do until I have daylight and time. The best I could tell from my quick survey its all old hens that are missing.

Gosh Folks, my days have been full. Got my Aunts mobile home moved but still working on getting water and lights. It turned into a nightmare before it was moved. Would you believe that my cousin refused to let the people moving the mobile home on the property until she paid him 2500.00. This after she had just given him 8000.00. Work has been crazy. My daughters car broke down and I had to pay for the car repair because she did not have enough money. As SS folks can you picture a chicken with its head cut off flopping around. That would be what the last few weeks have been like for me. I kept telling people I felt like I was standing around with a rope in my hand wondering if I lost my horse or found a rope.
Anyway, things at work are better, Aunt will be settled completely soon.
Oh and the neighbor child has decided it is fun to shoot my chickens with his BB gun. :barnie We put up posted signs and I am going to order some security cameras. I am also going to nail up some plywood on the back side of the chicken run so he can not shoot them without getting on our property.
Other than that - things are just hunky dorey.
Maybe now I will have some time to visit and post here. Been reading occasionally. And to all you folks who are laying the cigs down. Congratulations and hang in there. Maybe when I get through all this mess I will consider it too.

I had a whole Saturday to myself. Did absolutely nothing. And I do mean nothing. I sat around in my PJ's until noon drinking coffee and talking on the phone to everyone I have not talked to in several weeks.
When DH got home from a side job at noon I showered and dressed and we made a quick run to his moms to check on her and hook up the leaf bag thingy to her mower.
Stopped at the grocery store on the way home to pick up the turkeys for Thanksgiving. He had a 15% off coupon from our bonus points for using our card. When we got to the turkeys I discovered that there was also a special on buying a ham and getting a free turkey. Got the ham for 23.00, one turkey was 15.00 and one was 12.00. To our surprise we got the 15.00 turkey free and the 12.00 turkey only rang up as 9.83. Plus the 15% off the total bill. I also got some other things, corn meal, onions, taters, etc. but was really surprised that our total was only a little over 70 bucks.
Came home, put my PJ's back on and have done absolutely nothing. My first real day off in months. All the stuff that needed to be done is still there but OH WELL, who cares.

Had a nice Thanksgiving today. Small, just my SIL, MIL, stepson, me and DH. Nothing big, just dressing, fried turkey, mustard greens, sweet potatos and the normal condiments and breads. Everyone left about an hour after eating so DH and I took a nap.
Bad move. LOL Here it is midnight and I am still wide awake. Oh well, off work tomorrow and not much to do. Well not much except make more dressing and cook more food for dinner with my family on Saturday. I get to cook it and haul it 90 miles. But it will be nice to have both my children and all my grandchildren together for the day.

Hope everyone else had a wonderful day.

Sounds like a wonderfully peaceful day! My hubby wants a turkey fryer....he wanted to buy on and fry our Thanksgiving turkey, but I had to say no. I like my traditional holiday meal! I did buy a couple of extra birds so I guess he can have those :)

Your story is exactly why I don't ever nap!I can never get to sleep at night.

Dace say YES to that turkey fryer!

I bought one to use for CANNING only. I hook it up outside when it is too hot to can indoors and do all of my water bath canning in the beast. ;) I hate to have all that steam in the house in the summer. Even if you run an air conditioner in your house it just contributes to the load on it.

Much better to either can outside or freeze at first and wait until winter when all of that steam is appreciated in the house. :)

I can not believe I am already 5 days into the new year. I realized this morning that 2009 just kind of slipped through my fingers with all my plans and goals going by the wayside as I was blindsided by different things throughtout the year. I became overwhelmed at times and when things calmed down I was so far behind and unorganized that I just never got back on track. By the time I was sick of myself and my own whiny attitude something else would rear its ugly head to blindside me again.

I refuse to let this year do me the same way.

I have ordered most of my seeds for February starts inside. Everything I did inside last year did real well, so I am expanding my inside seed starting this year.

I am planning on adding 1 more raised bed. I really want 2 but will satisfy myself with 1 if that is all that happens. I am :fl that DH will start on the pantry and have it finished before the end of the month. (Yes this month, but not holding my breath).

And the most important news. I purchased a new bed just before Christmas. I ordered a Sleep Number bed. It arrived 2 days before Christmas. I am thrilled. I can actually roll out of bed feeling good. No more stiff back. Totally thrilled. I had one of these beds years ago and loved it but sadly lost it in a divorce. I purchased a less expensive knock off which I have been sleeping on for the last 8 or 9 years and have been kicking myself daily since the day it arrived. But due to the cost I just could not justify replacing it before now. Now I am kicking myself for not doing so.

Anyway, I am off to a good start with a new bed, a new attitude, and new goals.

:clap

A new bed makes all the difference. We slept on a really old one for many many years....once we got a new good quality bed....wow, what a difference! No more morning back aches!
