I just started a new job a few weeks ago. There was this big pile of plastic 5 gallon buckets - a phosphate came in them to treat water going into city mains. This is a rust preventative measure, and since the stuff goes into public drinking water - well it must be at least semi-safe.
It seems they just haul them to the dump. They told me so long as I don't re-sell them, I can have all I can carry. Well, since that wasn't my final work place, and I was being transferred to another facility next week (turned out to be yesterday, Hurrican Irene said so....) I figured I better grab them while I can.
I got 89 of them boys. I am thinking about 44 self-watering containers, all hooked up in series to a rainwater harvesting system.
