got all my potatoes in. the reds didn't do as well as the golds. cutting up the seed potatoes makes a huge difference.

we put a few more jars of new potatoes up and a few more quarts of green beans. the contender Bush beans are just about played out, the Kentucky wanderer poles are just getting started and the yard long Asians aren't even flowering yet. we are gonna put up ALOT of green beans this year I think.

we have more chickens to kill today. gonna try and get that over early. might split them up and can some stock...or I might freeze them whole.

time to mow the yard and mulch the garden and orchard but i don't think I'll have time this weekend. this damn job is really getting in the way of my homestead activities.

on one trellis I'm growing pole beans and butternut squash. so far it's working well.

I planted Bush beans in between my rows of Yukon golds and they all seem to have done well. they were also on top of all that fish we buried. it was completely covered and harvest was tough but it all worked out.
won't be long and we will pull the Bush beans and I'll have a very large space to fill with something. ?????
