That's a bit early. Usually means the temperature in the 'bator was a touch too high, but not necessarily a bad thing. Fingers crossed all will go well with this hatch :fl

Yeah I think I need to back down the wattage on the heat element some more. Idk I set 50 fertile eggs. We will see what the hatch rate is when they are done.

I have a hen on 9 eggs. Depending on HER for correct temps  I gave her six eggs after she would NOT come off the piece of plastic she was trying to hatch. That went to 10 eggs ( Thank you helpers!!), I marked them & cracked one, so, at 9. We will see!! Late for hatch but I won't have to do more to take care of them!! She wouldn't break up so I decided to give her eggs since she wasn't doing "anything else". some days are like that.

Looks like your are having at least some hatch. Great. Hope they all do well for you.

Ok guys, cooking chickens for 90 mins at 15 lbs is a little much. Next time I'm gonna try 30 mins. I found shredded chicken when I opened the pressure cooker.

It's tender tho:gig

Hmmmm... what altitude are you? I can at 10 lbs of pressure - but I'm pretty much at sea level. I'm one of those 'by the book' canners so I don't mess with changing the amount of time or anything like that. The Ball canning book is pretty much my bible when I can meat. There are some who don't even pressure can meat because they've 'never had a problem'. My theory is that it only takes one time to kill ya, lol! Or worse - kill someone ya love. But, of course, you can make up your own mind on that subject!

I'm at 600 feet. I got the pressure canner for free from a friend. It only has one weight and it's 15lb.

But to be clear, I havent canned anything yet. I pressure cooked the chicken.

The ball book says 90 mins at 10lbs. But I only have a 15lb jiggler. So I guess we will use that.

Next time I pressure cook chicken it's going to be for 30 mins instead of 90. That was WAY too much
