Two months ago I helped a friend work on his 16 station planter that had several broken welds and some bent stiffeners. I love to hang out at his farm and doing the welding and metal work was more fun than work. But at this time of year farms are all work and no play.
Two weeks ago I helped him get his big tractor started again while it was out in the field in a rain storm. His fuel gauge was broken and he ran it out of Diesel. If you have ever had experience with big Diesel engines it's sometimes an all-day job to get them primed and all the injector lines purged again in order to start it.
This morning at 5:30 AM he called me to see something that his son gave him last night. When I got there he gave me six double glazed 74x34 and two 74x17 glass panels. He knew that I had been thinking of building a cold frame or a greenhouse. So now I have a real good start.
His son owns a glazing company in Indianapolis and was clearing out stuff in his warehouse.
