Okay. Everyone give me some advise.

I want to grind my own wheat and see if I die eating it.

So....

Advice on grinders?

And where do I get the wheat?

Then I'll learn sour dough.

My only hope for doughnuts is unsweetened wheat sour doughed and drop happy little balls into fat and fry them and then coat them in ganache :D

Which sounds SO amazing good right now that I am going to do this as soon as I can. Probably a few paychecks into the new job ;) So by autumn.

Oh!

Best deep fryers? Or a deep pot and thermometer work best?

Sourdough doughnuts would be very good! Anything fermented is lower in carbs. And sprouted flours are 75% less!

I just realized.... I get to wear jammies at my new job.

Scrubs are just like jammies.

I will have to wear underwear. I will have to buy underwear. *sighs*

Start with purchased flour to see if the sourdough thing works for you. You can get rye flour and hard red wheat flour at Whole Foods. Also spelt and maybe a couple others. In the bulk bins.

Oh, and I am a frying newbie and have been using my cast iron skillet and a screen splatter guard and no thermometer....someone here just said heat it just until it smokes! It works! The food you put in will cool it a bit. I had french fries for the first time in....oh....15 years? and they were dangerously WONDERFUL and I used organic potatoes and had NO reaction! Uh-oh! I have to be good and not mess up my metabolism by eating too many! Hee-hee! I was good tonight and had a HUGE plate of roasted veggies, carrots, rutabaga, broccoli and asparagus. Tossed with herbed chicken fat and topped with shredded cheddar and sea salt. Hours later, I am still sated.

MMMM Sounds wonderful!!! Must fry... everything....

I read the most funny article by some college kids who learned to do tempura. They tempurad EVERYTHING edible. LOL.

I cannot do any purchased flours. So far, at least, all that I've tried made me sick.

And I know that any time I eat fresh ground wheat, sour doughed, I don't die. But I killed my last sour dough starter because I forgot about it. :hide

I have a few friends with sour dough so I'll get a new starter. They're Colorado hardy so it'll work.

School update:

Should get a call tonight or Wednesday to officially register in the class! That will mean my background check was clean. *beams*

Since I've EVER had one (yes ONE) speeding ticket. Nothing else. Unless it's blacked out in some secret government building in which case it won't show anyway... I'm very unconcerned.

TB test is checked tonight.

And then just need to get scrubs and shoes.
