NP @lcertuche. Nice looking birds and setting. Is that pond part of your property? I would give my right arm for a pond.
Just got in from clearing snow since 8 this morning. It was a dry snow, but I guess between the winds and letting it sit overnight really compressed it. We still have more to do, but at least we dug out the 3 vehicles and can turn around and get out of the driveway. Tomorrow I'll clear down to the warehouse. It was sunny for a while, but it has turned gray and windy, and it is snowing again.
We actually have 3 nice ponds and a creek/overflow off one of the ponds. Good for boys who like to spend the summer fishing. Long driveways for riding bikes and neighbors close enough if you need help but not so close you see them or hear them.
@lcertuche , sounds like paradise.
You go that right @baymule . I was asleep by 6pm, crawled into bed at 7pm (it was still light out) and now I'm up at 11:30 pm because my back and legs are killing me!
I have lived at various times with no air conditioning. Not a lot of fun, but it didn't kill me. At night, spray mist the top bedsheet with water, turn a fan on and the evaporation of the water will keep you cool. At least I don't have to shovel sunshine.
Thanks Bay. Good advice. I lived a whole month of being pregnant when the temperature never went below 100 for over 30 days straight and I survived. I wouldn't want to do it again but I know I could if I had to. Hanging wet sheets over open windows and going swimming every late afternoon helped too.
Well, the standby generator is on hold! We had to get $500 worth of repairs on one of the cars, and out of the blue we got a $1200 bill from St Lukes for an emergency room visit last October. Outrageous! 1 1/2 hours in the ER and the bill was $4922 for "Emergency Room Services", and we had already paid for the Drs and tests!...and this insurance policy runs over $800 a month. No wonder why health care is falling apart in this country. Well, anyway, those two things took a good chunk of the money set aside for the generator, so we'll have to wait...again.
