I saw an episode of Gordon Ramsey's F-word where they were giving samples of horse milk because it's naturally low fat and high in EFA's or something. The ppl tasting them were kinda freaked out tho...

Okay, I finally was able to wrap my head around sheep cheese (actually is very good), but what's next? Donkey cheese? Donkey yogurt? Or how about donkey ice cream? Look out OFG, a trip to get donkey ice cream could intail a trip to get your diamonds out of your safety box at the bank.

A story ran on our local evening CBS news last night about people in Europe who are unable to drink cow's or even goat's milk. They have discovered that many people can drink donkey milk. I sat giggling through the whole story since my milk goat is named Donki! We are so trendy!!
It was an unusual sight to see, numerous donkeys hooked up to a milking machine.
They charge roughly $20 a quart for the milk if I understood correctly. :th
I saw that too. Yes, they said $20 per quart! They showed a children's hospital in Italy that stocks donkey milk for patients with allergies. They said nutritionally, it's very close to mother's milk.

They showed the donkey farm, too. But from what I could tell, it looked like all the donkeys with milkers on were girls ;)
Yep, that's the same story. I'm pretty sure they were girls too.
Made Donki yogurt yesterday, but that's not quite the same thing. :p

Yes, I heard that horse milk is the closest thing to people milk!

We milked our mare a time or two when she foaled years back, just to give it a try. It was thin like skim milk, but tasted like the milk at the bottom of the cereal bowl! VERY sweet and sugary.
