Well, I for one find it very attractive when my man gets all manly and works hard outside! However, I spent four hours yesterday doing the chore of cleaning the winter's worth of poop, hay, and straw from the communal goat stall, filling holes it the floor with more sand dug from a sandy spot in the pasture, and putting down fresh bedding.

I planted and weeded for a couple of hours today, that felt pretty good, too. Fills the soul. Kept a container nearby to collect worms, then used them to fill my two remaining chicks that I rescued from being smooshed by my amorous tom.

Whatever the semantics, I love all the tasks associated with my little farmlet! Thanks for the thread, BBH! :frow

Interesting this conversation has come up now. Just this weekend on another board me and a couple of other folks were pondering whether a reversion to an agrarian society is inevitable and our only hope of survival when TSHTF.

(Note I said "when", not "if". :D )

What if I'm just trying to live the best possible life I can with what I have and am counting it as God's blessings?
