The chickens are getting a new coop today. Converting the garden shed to a chicken coop. I'll sell the small coop to someone else or use as a temporary quarantine coop.
.
LOL ... keep the old coop. After all you may need it for ducks to keep snails out of your garden, or ... A goat shed? ;)

No goats. Sorry. And the coop isn't right for ducks. Nice ideas though.

Okay everyone - I'd love to be somewhere I could get goats. That would be totally awesome. HOWEVER, I live in the middle of a city, with a backyard pool and hottub, and NO ROOM for goats even if they were legal. I'd spend a fortune on feed for a very unhappy goat who wouldn't have enough room to graze. There's enough room for the dog, the cats mostly hang out on the fence (kitty highway), and there's a patch of grass for the chickens, and a patch of garden for me. That's about it in back. The front has three big sequoia trees, surrounded by small bits of "lawn", but pretty shady cuz of the trees. I'm going to be tearing out the lawn and putting in native plants there and maybe a small pond with a couple domestic ducks. (DH wants ducks.) I'm not putting the ducks with my chickens cuz the ducks are far too messy.

Anyways - no goats. Not until we move somewhere with a wee bit more acreage. And are not in the middle of a city. Seriously, we're a mile from city hall.

So.... what are you saying Anna?

Sorry abi. I know you might find it difficult to read the subtle hints, being autistic and all... ;)

How about this:

No goats. None. Zero. There will be NO GOATS on this homestead!

Oh yes. You could totally have a couple chickens on the porch! Chickens are so much more compact and easier. Get a couple bantams (silkies look like tribbles) and tell people they're just an exotic parrot.
