Anniversary Song
Guy Lombardo
- written by Al Jolson and Saul Chaplin
- as recorded by Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians
December 13, 1946 in New York
Oh, how we danced on the night we were wed
We vowed our true love, though a word wasn't said
The world was in bloom, there were stars in the skies
Except for a few that were there in your eyes
Dear, as I held you close in my arms
Angels were singing a hymn to your charms
Two hearts gently beating, were murmuring low
"My darling, I love you so"
we were going to do romantic dinner for just us....but being close to Christmas out of time to see the lights.....so we chose going to the lights.
guess what?
THEY WERE CLOSED on Monday....Kill me OK!
drove 1 hr. to get there and closed. Dummy me didn't look at the days....I just assumed they would be open with the lights being so close to Christmas......so we ate at Pizza Hut...kill me again OK!
I am not a pizza hut fan but Tony loves it so it was fine....
so home now and GOING TOMORROW for the light show.......my old butt is tired ya know..HA HA HA
Oh Farmerchick, sorry your plans didn't work out, but seems that it was a celebration - the two of you were together and sometimes that's enough. I also had to smile reading that with your anniversary so close to Christmas you opted for the light show. Our anniversary is Dec. 1 and there's always something Christmas with the family that keeps us from a big night out. But, we really aren't big night out fans anyway.LOL I've always thought there was something magical about being married in the month of December.........we just celebrated our 29th.
Wishing you many more years of happiness and good health together!
