I've been interested, BUT what if only one person does it? It's Christian-based, right? My fiance would never go for it. Is it something you can do solo?
Best done solo, and in secret ;) We did it with our church, but the idea is, as you go along doing the things suggested, the partner will eventually notice, and it will bring you closer. We really enjoyed it. We were and have remained closer to each other than we were when we married!! we have been married for 8 years and I have to say, not only did that book SAVE our marriage, it made it something very special that we honestly did not have before. We appreciate each other more now than ever. But I don't really recommend it  All that mushy gushy stuff...is just highly overrated IMVHO ;)

TR and I own the Fireproof movie and did the Love Dare at the same time on our own. Even though we were working on the same day's reading and exercise at the same time, we weren't always doing the same exact thing.... It made for some great discussions at our house.

About a month later, we joined the couples study at church, which met for 6 weeks. As a group, we watched clips from the movie Fireproof and had a workbook to answer questions and there was Bible study involved with each week's homework. The following week, we participated in discussion (if we wanted to) about what we got out of the homework; if any scripture or movie clip spoke directly to us.

IMO, the Love Dare can be done by anyone at any time and does not need to be done separately.

The book does build as it progresses, because the person's understanding of true love is supposed to grow as they progress through the book.

At our house, the Fireproof movie is one that we watch over and over again.....
