Welcome!!! My family loves the high desert. The desert surely presents a whole range of challenges in being SS. I would love to hear about how you handle them.

I'm all over the place. Right now I'm in Burney, CA; working on the Lassen National Forest for another week.

I'm new here, having joined on the advice of Ldychef2k. I am in the hot Central Valley, about an hour south of Fresno.

Thanks! It definitely has its challenges, but I think most places do in some way. :) (I, however, would like to NOT live in a desert! )

My husband and his father's side of the family lived in Hesperia when I met him. We are in the Central Valley south of Fresno now, and they live east of Sacramento. I agree with the 'NOT' living in the desert sentiment. I grew up in rainy, north-coastal Oregon.
