:welcome Lovechooks, It's great to have a voice from down under. I too have always wanted to visit. Hopefully some day.
Sounds as if you have a happy busy life there. It is great that you are that active and keep you children along for the ride. It is a very important life lesson.
Your worm farm sounds great. That is one of my many goals is to build a worm farm. Do you have any garden areas? and if so how do you set them up? ground level?, raised beds?, or container gardening?
Do you have any solar or wind generation? :duc Sorry I do tend to ask ????? :duc

Very nice to have you join the forum. :clap

Hi Karan, no we don't have windfarm available to us here but many people are switching to solar power and selling back to the grid. The financial outlay is still quiet large though and we were not in a position to get it.

I have raised vegie beds, and 12 fruit trees in the paddock, we use compost and worm farm poo and chook poo as fertilizer.

We use raised beds as well have for 20 + years opps  showing my age
We have our barn solar powered, and are in the process of putting up a wind tower. Not a huge one by any means, but Dh has made one large enough to help off set the cost of keeping power for our greenhouse. So hope fully we can have it up and running by this fall.

Do you live more in the city or in the suburban area? We are in a very rural area or County has a population of 4700, so you could say we live in the country. And we love it :celebrate

You are starting to get into your winter season there are you not?

Could you post some photos ?, you can put links on your post, and there is an upload portion of this forum where to load photos also. :caf

Look forward to seeing and hearing more of you and your family. :clap

Hoping you are having a wonderful weekend. :thumbsup

I am in a town of about 100,000 Karan, and about 2.5 kms out of town, but another kilometre and your in the Country so I am kind of on the edge but with the benifits of being able to ride into town. Ballarat is the largest regional town in Victoria and about 1.5 hours drive to Melbourne.

I also have a road bike and ride a bit and love that I can be on the road and 10 minutes down the track be completely surrounded by the green paddocks and cows!

I live on nearly an acre but do have units in the block next door so lots of neighbours. Across the road though they are 5 acre blocks and behind them a creek/walking track and the Creswich State Forest, so I do get to see the odd Kangaroo while walking, freaks the dog out though he thinks it's a massive rabbit!!

We have a ton of foxes around here to because of our location to the forest so not good for the chooks but Iv only lost one batch, we let them free range they are ok during the day though from attacks.

What sort of photo's would you like to see, the chooks? Vegie garden? My SS place might be a little embarrassing compared to all your efforts! I'm still learning!

Here is a link to the worm farm though, mine is exactly the same as this one, hope this works!

BBH I think a chook is a chicken.

Lovechooks , I have two worm farms as well. Mine is the multi level square one and then the other is more bucket style. I have a hard time remembering to feed my worms. The chickens usually eat all the scraps.

I would love to see pics of your general area.

The story about your little one in the bike reminds me of my mom. She used to ride a three wheeler with my lil sis in the rear basket. I don't think they would let us do that now.

Look forward to hearing more. :D

Lovechooks, so glad to see another massage therapist here....I think that makes 4 of us, if I am counting properly. Funny how MTs seem to gravitate towards the simple, SS style living...maybe because we enjoy working with our hands!

That is exciting so many MT's! I am also able to practise in Canada as we have an agreement with their governing body of massage, here it's the AAMT (Australian Association of Massage Therapists).

I am hoping one day to become more specialised in teaching baby massage but at the moment most of my clients are needing remedial and have repeditive injuries.

I will get busy with the camera today!! Take some picture's of the chooks! and the fruit trees, there all bare though :/ it is 2 weeks into Winter but having a beautiful day here though, nice and sunny for once!

I am busy enough for me as my hubby works 4 days on 4 days off, he travels and stays down in Mebourne on the 4 days on so I cannot work then as I have one child not at school. So I book clients in for the 4 days off times.

The eldest is 10, then 7 and a just turned 4 year old - all boys!

They go to Public school, I don't feel smart enough to teach them and I think they would drive me nuts if I tried!

DH is a Fire Officer in Melbourne in the Fire Brigade, Victoria this year has been through the worst bushfires in history, in Australia anyway. I have taken some pictures, and will take some more tomorrow then upload
