My first time broody finally hatched out some ducklings. I thought we were past the hatching date and she was sitting on bad eggs. I went out all prepared to candle and possibly take her off the nest and toss her in the pool to break her broodiness, but when I lifted the lid on her hut, little yellow faces were looking at me

I will try and get photos later but mom is being pretty darn fierce right now! Gave me the broodie stink eye and I think my blood curdled a little!! :: shudder ::

She led them off the nest and I counted 6 before she saw me and gathered them all up. I have a few crappy photos I snapped with the cell phone here...

Yay! Nothing quite so cute as baby ducklings. BBH has a few right now too. Have fun!
