It would depend on how close you plant them, and how many ears you get per plant. When I plant (sweet) corn, I plant it in rows that are 1 ft apart, and have the plants 8" apart. So, if I did it as a 4x4 box, I'd have 35 plants, 2 ears/plant would give me 70 ears max. I haven't grown field corn yet, plan to try it next year and see if I can grow it the same way.BarredBuff said:Thanks Deb!! I think about 6 rows will be enough. As for corn, I found this in a book I have. You can expect 18 lbs of corn from 100 square feet.
