that one was so close to us we were in like a vacuum. Trees all got still wind quit instantly like someone rolled up the window in the car, the air got heavy, and all I could see was orange clouds when lightning lit up the sky. Couldn't hear the thunder or anything from it. It was about a mile away as the crow flies...three miles down our curvy road. Hit a friends house and tore the roof off laid trees over all over the place. Hit a matress factory and matresses could be found 50 miles away along the path it took. Weird.

BB I used to think the same thing. My last home was on a ridge. Beautiful view of the town below and a creek at the bottom of the mountain in the valley. Reason it was our last home and not our current home is a tornado went right down the valley and up the mountain. Bam! No more home. Soo now we live at my dad's old place. We are already being warned about tornadoes in the early morning tonight around 1 or 2 am. Thank goodness dh works night. I am going to keep the phone beside me tonight.
