BROODY BUFF!! BROODY BUFF!!! :bun

Tommorow is day 15 for her. :woot

Now Im gonna tell ya a story. Back in the late 80s, two women (Auntie and Granny) planted a very beautiful a flower garden. It had bridges, a pond, benches, creeks, it was huge. People had their senior pictures in it, some wanted to be married in it. Many a time people from out of state would stop by and be toured in it by Granny. Then a huge storm hit and took down two weeping willows. After 15 years in pristine condition it was destroyed. So essentialy it was abandoned and forgotten since no one could come and cut them out.

Eventually they were cut out. But by then weeds and briars had taken over and it was abandoned. This was 7 years ago.

Me an Auntie have been talking lately. Starting tommorow we are going to heal this garden. Were cutting the dead stuff out, cleaning out the creeks and pond. We are going to make it new again. Re sow some flowers and sow some more flowers.

When we do get it revived we are going to have a stone sign made like this:
THE GARDEN OF EDEN
"And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden..." Gen. 2:8

Im hoping we get it revived. It was so pretty.

man that broody is so cute! "go chickie mama!" The buns are adorable as well!

As for the garden that sounds like a wonderful project! bet it will be beautiful... you could even use some of the garden space to plant an edible garden or plants... like flowering fruit trees, I have some cherry bushes that are SO pretty in spring covered in white flowers... I ordered a few more just to plant for decorative purposes! or flax flowers for seeds or poppy's are beautiful you can get the breadseed type... Hollyhocks are so pretty and are edible too! They have a neat climbing vine called malabar spinach that has a red stem... I'm going to try to plant some of that myself in a few places!

There are some heirloom cherries in there. Need to prune some on them. I have already wrote down what needs to be fixed/redone to get it back in tip top shape. :D

Yeah here it is:
"Eden Priority List"
Section 1
*Clear out around the staircase. Taking away any vines and briars.
*Cut down the limb that has blown over in the path.
*Trim and prune the trees on the bank.
*Cut away any fallen sticks and rubish.
*Clear out the path (eventually)
*Eventually plant more hastas
Section 2
*Do MAJOR trimming and thinning of the bushes
*Clear out the stream
*Kill out the wild vines
*Trim heavily on the willow
*Eventually plant a tulip bed around the willow with a new bench.
Section 3
*Clean out the stream.
*Clear out around the pond.
*Try and clear the pond out (limbs and such. Back several years ago a deer ran thru there and cut a whole in the liner. Since then it has resealed with leaves.)
*Clean out around the bridge.
*Clean out the fence row.
Section 4
*Clear out the path
*Clear out around the fence row
*Do MAJOR briar cutting.
*Cut down some trees.
*Trum the existing bushes and trees.
*Eventually plant more flowers thru here.
Section 5
*Redo the entrance there.
*Make a path.
*Replace some bushes.
*Make it a tad more symmetrical.
*Replace the bird bath.
Section 6
*Clean out the stream.
*Cut a tree down.
*Clear out the briars and weeds.
*Prune some bushes.
*Sow entirely in wild flowers.

When its all fixed up we are going to put creek rock on the paths. Section 2 & 4 are the worst. They havent been cleaned out since 2003. The others are touched every now and then.
