Not sure, but it can get moldy. Then, you can't feed it to your animals.

You can tell if it's been baled wet-it will feel warm. If you're buying hay, and it feels either cool or hot, don't buy it! The hot will catch on fire, the cool may still be wet, and could either mold, or catch on fire.
I didn't know hay would combust. What is a good temperature for it?

I don't know what a good temp is. But, try to stick your hand in it. If it's hot, you'll know. Stay far, far away from it.

lol did you order the crazy cat lady kit Buff?

the-crazy-cat-lady-starter-kit-is-here.jpg

sounds like your doing well...
jealous on the velveteens id love to get into velveteen lops but i am told they tend to have fertility issues (probably due to the english lop blood)
so i plan to go mini plush instead (mini rex on holland or mini lop :D)

yay on the bigger barn.

ive always been told if storing hay in a hay loft
1: make sure its fully dry BEFORE bailing,
2: store the hay Loose loose hay is less likely to gain enough heat to combust than bales are...

if your storing bales keep track of your temps and check your hay loft daily...

A few little things to report......

1. Firstly and most importantly, the 12 Delaware Eggs from Cindi should be here tomorrow according to the USPS Tracking stuff :woot So excited! We have the incubator stabilizing at school. They cut me my check for the eggs today, :woot Also I'm seizing the opportunity to incubate some more as well for Easter. 26 assorted eggs to go with me tomorrow. Giving me 38 eggs there, and 37 here. :woot All should hatch within a week :D

2. I also lost a kit today, unknown why. Just found it in the cage this morning. Who knows :hu Other than that the rabbits are doing great. Deb has a HUGE nest made. Im expecting them at any moment. The other one is working on a nest. Then my Velveteen doe hasn't had any.

3. I also may have found a calf to raise. I am going to inquire and see. We'll see how that turns out.

4. Lastly ya'll may not hear from me for a few days, I will be late getting home tomorrow due to interview practice. Then Friday is my big interview for my regional FFA office, then afterwards we are heading to a charity auction. So don't miss me to much :p

Pinky, that actually does look like our bunch!

2 Blacks
3 Tabbys
2 Calico
3 Splotched

Then a smoky tom and a yellow tabby have shown up as well
