I barter quite a bit when I have the need and the resources. I've bartered eggs for many things, chickens for fresh, pasture raised beef, massage for construction or materials for such, labor for lumber and fencing, labor for firewood, etc.....I'm always looking for a good swap.

My latest barter is goat cheese for a handmade silk scarf.

I have a goat up for barter if anyone has a pig.

I have bartered graphic design work for honey, maple syrup, chiropractic adjustments, and soap. Hubby has traded advertisement for car repairs.

Great barters, everyone!

Since I'm in the city and don't have have thw equipment/land to hunt, I have traded a dozen grassfed rabbits for a field dressed deer (as soon as it's shot). Should make my neighbors happy.

Not only did I get my scarf, I was also given a dehydrator.

Then I drove to the post office to pick up the dehydrator I ordered 3 days earlier.

I hate bartering. I stink at it. I tend to almost give stuff away. I need to start attending some flea markets and practice bartering, as I know that it is a great skill to acquire.

If in doubt, agree to barter items and services for the full retail price of each. That way neither party is resentful. If bartering services, I always insist that I receive the service first, as I've been burned in the past. Unless it is a barter with someone I know and trust and have had good experiences with before.
