Those threads are allowed because they are harmless (yes, mindless, too!) fun for those who enjoy that kind of thing, and when they get big enough, Rob just deletes them. I think the BYC-ers also like to see how high they get before someone gets mad and demands the thread to be closed too. There are some very opinionated, passionate folks over there! Sometimes I just want to interrupt a thread and simply type, "PEACE, MAN!" Whew, my blood pressure shoots up when I stumble onto a nice looking thread and find out that everyone is yelling. (There should be a warning in the thread title: Warning this thread sounds interesting, but we are really yelling.)

I get a kick out of the online poultry shows and random ramblings. I had no idea about simply counting posts on a thread until they close. Where are those located? Worth a snoop?
