Well, I plan on making comfrey salve, for someone who has eczema. They wanted to try it, I have researched it.It only takes 3 ingredients...comfrey, olive oil and beeswax. I have both beeswax's now..just waiting on the comfrey to finish up in the oil. That takes 6 weeks.

My opinion is that it would be worth trying to find wax from treatment-free hives, as loads of chemicals end up in the wax otherwise. The only reason I can imagine wanting "food-grade" beeswax would be for lip balm, of which 50% ends up in our bellies, or so they say...
I admit to having next to no knowledge about bees, but I am sure that I have read somewhere that bees are so sensitive to their environments that hives, wax, honey etc. are, almost by definition, chemical free as they comes from the hive - otherwise the bees would be dead. Of course, that doesn't address how the product is treated after being taken out of the bees' keeping.

Hello...... I am not sure why I am posting this , but I had a flash back to a time when I had a patient that was allergic to bees and I used a cream that had bees wax in it turned into a emergency situaton so my point is if you plan to give or sell it remember to let them know it contains bees wax and they might have a reaction to it.

Exactly why I am researching it so much, before I even make it. I don't want to cause some one to have any allergic reaction to anything I make.

I would defiantly put a disclosure on your product to protect your self. List all ingredients as well. Wishing you the best on your adventure.
