Back in 1989 or 90ish I bought 2 of these hanging dryers from Handy Pantry

I just looked it up, amazon has it, but HOLY COW I can believe the price!

I like to do things not depending on electricity, so oven and is summer sun drying are options. There is quite a bit of info on the web if you look it up.

I am trying to become less dependent on the freezer, we all talked about last spring on building a meat smoker.
Drying meat is one option, salting meat another.

I'm using electricity while it's available, but I have some ideas about how to convert my Excalibur to non-electric if/when the time comes. Something like this, connected to the dryer itself, might work
