That's beautiful!

It's pretty, I like it. When I get the mineral oil and beeswax finish on it, it should look nice.

As a wood worker, one of the very first things you learn is, every board has a good side and a not so good side. The back of the headboard looks like hell, but the front is nice. I won't even bother sanding the back of the headboard it's beyond hope. It will most likely be against a wall anyways.

It's so pretty finished with mineral oil and beeswax. I've had some people say that the wood is to wild in some of the stuff I've built oh my god there's a knot.. All that drastic color variations is called natural wood character and I have yet to see one tree without branches.

Nice pic. Even better pic will be of her nestled in that crib. She's blessed to have a grampy who can build an heirloom. She can use that through many of her sleeping days, then pass it on to her own daughter.

Interesting to note the difference in lighting from the shop to the home and how it effects the color of the wood.

You are rich in granddaughters! I think it's awesome that you have such skill and use it to make something they will always remember you by. Very nice.
That needs serious skill. I hope at least one in the family has that kind of skill. it's really handy.. I'm actually thinking about kitchen cabinets and stuff like that.. :|
