Almost Self-Reliant
Well, the day was a total flop. Most vendors sold absolutely nothing. My friend and I both sold very little. Next year, they're going to do it the weekend of the townwide yardsale, which would definately boost sales at the show. Ah well, for being our first spring show, and the first show for that particular club, it wasn't super terrible. There were two other people with soaps (one was soap only, the other just had a small soap stand), and one was candles only. NO candles sold for this show, and mine was the only soap to sell. I did get an invite to a monthly show, a small one, but I'll give it a whorl and see how it does. It's $5 cover for a table (very small table though, only 4') and donation prize of a $5 retail item. I figure what the hell, try it once or twice, if it works, I can go monthly, if not, then I just won't go. Not much to lose really. But now I'm wiped out. Whole day worth of work with basically nothing to show for it. However, I feel blessed... A canned pepper recipe I was looking for for the past three years... FINALLY GOT IT! The lady beside us was talking about the pepper jelly my friend makes and mentioned that she makes peppers in a ketchup sauce. I just about died. I put a LOT of effort into looking for the damn recipe, and here it was just spilled into my lap by pure chance. How freaking lucky is that?
