Well, the day was a total flop. Most vendors sold absolutely nothing. My friend and I both sold very little. Next year, they're going to do it the weekend of the townwide yardsale, which would definately boost sales at the show. Ah well, for being our first spring show, and the first show for that particular club, it wasn't super terrible. There were two other people with soaps (one was soap only, the other just had a small soap stand), and one was candles only. NO candles sold for this show, and mine was the only soap to sell. I did get an invite to a monthly show, a small one, but I'll give it a whorl and see how it does. It's $5 cover for a table (very small table though, only 4') and donation prize of a $5 retail item. I figure what the hell, try it once or twice, if it works, I can go monthly, if not, then I just won't go. Not much to lose really. But now I'm wiped out. Whole day worth of work with basically nothing to show for it. However, I feel blessed... A canned pepper recipe I was looking for for the past three years... FINALLY GOT IT! The lady beside us was talking about the pepper jelly my friend makes and mentioned that she makes peppers in a ketchup sauce. I just about died. I put a LOT of effort into looking for the damn recipe, and here it was just spilled into my lap by pure chance. How freaking lucky is that?

Thanks guys! :) I never see a show as a total bust... Something always comes of it, even if it is just spending the day catching up with my friend. I put a lot of work into my stuff this year, so the next show should be better. Our regular shows I'm positive will have a much better outcome. We test out new sales as much as we can, then we stick with the ones where we make a decent profit. At least my inventory wasn't completely wiped out, so I won't have to work nearly as hard for the next shows. And I can open my online sales again as well. :)

Yesterday, the boyfriend came home with a roaring fever. Now, this morning, whatever I had just a few days ago is BACK!!! I just don't get it. I never have something come back like that. I'm so SICK of being sick! I just hope to goodness that the boys don't come down with it. It's miserable enough being sick with the boyfriend taking care of me, but for both of us being sick and trying to take care of him now, I just want to lay down and sleep the week away. UGH! I've never been a sick-o person. I rarely get sick, but when I do, it really takes me for a ride. This is exactly how I feel right now.... :sick

Thanks guys! At least this time I started taking stuff for it right away, so I'm not quite so yucky. I still have to run to get my mom's mother's day present, plus try to clean the house up and organize my "office". I have about a quarter of my crafting stuff here, and it's taking over the kitchen, literally. I'm also trying to find out when the one auction close to here is going to happen. They have a lot of plant starts and such, and we're hoping to load up our plot from that auction. I really want to get that plot done (err, started I guess), because food prices are insane. The boyfriend's been paying for most of it, and I feel like such a chump. :/

Well, I'll be damned. Talking about my ex husband on another thread, I figured I'd check my child support balance... It actually has money on it! It's been six months since he's put any support in there. We went to court, he was charged with contempt of court for not paying it. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail if he didn't follow their strict rules... Well, that apparently was enough motivation for him to get off of his ass and get a damn job. It's a miracle, lol.
