Almost Self-Reliant
The one bag was in there for maybe two days, and it smelled terrible. Something is definately wrong with the fridge. Finally got the thermometer in there... 55F. It's colder in the cellar than it is in the fridge. I never really noticed, because the kids almost always get into the fridge before I do... They open it for me, WIDE open, so I didn't think anything of it not being super cold when I grabbed stuff out. Today, however, I haven't let them in it, and it's at 55F. I cranked the fridge to a lower setting, hopefully this helps. I have an "apartment" fridge (regular fridge/freezer model, but somewhat small) at my parents house that I could get, but I don't know if it's worth the hassle... It just seems so small when you try to pack stuff in there... Hence why it's in the basement and used as an overflow fridge. Hopefully the fridge does well with the adjustment.
It's a good thing that the four of us have iron stomachs... Because the first bag was probably "off" by the time we made the second or third meal out of it.
