The best way to avoid bronchitis for me was to stop drinking milk. I used to get bronchitis every winter. When I stopped drinking milk, I stopped getting bronchitis. So, just so you consider avoiding dairy and see if it helps.
This sent little thoughts dancing in my head. Like you I develop bronchitis at least once a year. I have not drank milk much in the last year and have not been sick at all. Only a very small glass (couple of swallows) on rare occasions. You know, occasions when I was really wanting milk bad. That is until recently. I drank two glasses of milk, two days in a row and got sick shortly afterwards. I am trying to think how quick afterwards. Seems like it was the next day after the second glass.

2dream...maybe a little coincidental, the weed pollen is VERY high around our neck of the woods right now due to the super dry weather and that is what has gotten me. EVERYBODY here is sick. I normally have no issues with seasonal allergy other than a runny nose for a couple days and a couple sneezes. This year has been very different! I'd keep my eye on the milk though, just in case.

I am slowly recovering. I have upped my vitamin intake C&D(thanks WZ) and I no longer feel like it is developing into bronchitis. My esophagus is better, my chest is still clogged a bit, but not like it was. I think I'm on the downhill slide. My body is doing what it is supposed to fighting it off, because I'm still a little tired from my immune system being so busy. I think I will come out without antibiotics though. :woot I ate some onion and honey too and have done a cup or two of tea and had a glass of soda water. It's WORKING!!! :D

Thanks all!! :hugs I did NOT want to go to a doctor, and now it looks like I may not have to, which literally THRILLS me

Sleep with a cut onion by your head too. I have done it, and it works wonders.

I read somewhere about a research done on salt inhalers and bronchitis. The results were very positive, I would try that too.

I use this whenever I get any type of cold/sinus issue. I swear by it!!

"In todays modern world of medicine the FDA just will not let companies that sell products make medical claims about them unless they have been tested at great expense, and approved as a drug. But this was not always the case."

In a 1924 booklet published by the Arm & Hammer Soda Company, the company starts off saying, The proven value of Arm & Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda as a therapeutic agent is further evinced by the following evidence of a prominent physician named Dr. Volney S. Cheney, in a letter to the Church & Dwight Company:

In 1918 and 1919 while fighting the Flu with the U. S. Public Health Service it was brought to my attention that rarely any one who had been thoroughly alkalinized with bicarbonate of soda contracted the disease, and those who did contract it, if alkalinized early, would invariably have mild attacks.

Recommended dosages from the Arm and Hammer Company for colds and influenza back in 1925 were:
During the first day take six doses of half teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at about two hour intervals
During the second day take four doses of half teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at the same intervals
During the third day take two doses of half teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water morning and evening, and thereafter half teaspoonful in glass of cool water each morning until cold is cured
