And as an FYI, Baker Creek tested allt heir heritage corn seed, and ALL of it is tainted with GMO.
They feel for certain that no corn is safe anymore.
Organic label or not.

I am thinking about no longer even buying the nixtimaled Masa Harina anymore.

Is it this years seeds they tested? I bought lots of corn seed from them last year and still have plenty left. I also saved seed from the ones I grew last year. No one near us grew corn, so I feel fairly good about it not being contaminated.
Corn seed is good for 4 years, so I will be sure to rotate my seed.
I wish I could get mine tested, but I am sure it will cost money that I don't have. So I will just try to keep mine going and maybe I will be able to get it tested some time in the future.

They test every year and it wasn't all their corn. It was 50%. The stuff that tests positive for GMO's doesn't get sold.

HAHAH! ok i know its crazy. but why let just the gmo crops gain more seed precentages than heirloom. i dont get why that doesnt make sense to u guys. u got stock in these gmo companies or something lol.

well, i know there will not be a huge crop harvest obviously, but plants have beared fruits when i tested this in my yard. the few cherry tomato plants did make there own fruit yearly without me attending to it, which was important, yes it only produced a few fruit but it was naturally able to reproduce and save its genetics for the years and giving proof of letting nature take over the process. (see i tested this scientifically to prove the possibilty, and yes obviously there will be loss)
every year the gmo companies make larger amounts of gmo seed while everyone worries about gmo take over in front of the computer, worrying never makes a change for the better. making people aware is good, but this does not help if no one still takes action. the companies want people to worry and sit back in a panic state, and not change anything. IVE seen the people wanting regulation on these gmo plants, but then u find out the people in charge in the gov, are the same people who run the gmo companies, meaning the laws will never change....

DID U ALL KNOW PATENTING ANIMAL AND FOOD SOURCES WAS ILLEGAL UNDER THE CONSTITUTION TILL GE BRIBED THE SUPREME COURT INTO ALLOWING PATENTING OF ORGANISMS IN THE 70's, one if the first gmo organisms! it could have been put to rest back then if people were honest! then we would have never had to worry about this ever! now innocent kids are getting sick cause the grandparents never did anything

ohh well, just because i posted this here, doesnt mean its the start. i have people who are part of this worldwide, greater than 100, as well as the people they have talked to. they bring the proof of seeds to the wind and the saving of important heirloom genetics in the wild and at home. now there are videos of these peoples work, just utube "gurilla gardens"as a start. i still dont get why ur against this,

the heirloom genetics shrink, while the gmo genetics grow, the wrong type of logic.


at the least, i hope people are making heirloom gardens and collecting the seeds that way, its an even better alternative to protecting the heirlooms and good seeds....

they did plan the super weeds, wait till they comeout with new pesticides, and change some of the genetic codes to make another
round- down instead of r___d-up(get patent rights for a monopoly again on a product for another 20 yrs). they will be heros again, the stock will increase, then they get more money, all planned. then they can increase the gmo crops even farther world wide, then everyone worries and takes no action again lol.

You can plant all the heirloom you want, and the bees will contaminate it.
And please do not say we are just sitting here complaining.
None of us are into doing that.
We are SS for a reason.

And GMO seed is not sterile. Monsanto has made it illegal to save and plant for profit any of their seed, and that includes heirloom seed that is contaminated.

have u seen the article, indonesia was bribed to have sterile rice seed put into there food system, not here in the states.
it was about a yr ago, its a sad article!! obviously its gonna take some time to find it again,
it was sterile rice, meaning the farmers would have to buy from the companies supplying the gmo, and the seed would be unable to reproduce.
then in turn the farmers would have to buy the seed again and if they dont make enough from the harvest that could be it for them..

im not saying you guys, i mean like u tube and stuff. u guys are probably more right than i am cause im just a kid, and new to the farming stuff. i just bring up my experiences from being in biology classes back in college and getting the understanding of how the gmo system works....

its just annoying that i am born years later than the start of the gmo mess, and i have to live through it when it was not my fault, as well as most people in my generation. its forced on us, it was kept secret until the advent of the internet, its just sooo annoying lol....
