Canned Foods

I am surprised everytime I do dishes of how many canning jars I wash each week. And thankful of all the canning I did this fall. A great feeling and I am busy looking @ seed catalogs during yet another big snowfall.

I take 1 to 2 cases back down to my garage every week or so. It usually depends on what I have cooked.

It's such a great feeling.

love it! I just finished my last canning for the calendar year. I brought home a 30 pound container of pie cherries, frozen, this summer. Finally thawed it and made a bunch of cherry jam and bottled the rest. Making a cherry crisp this very moment.

Where would one get a 30 lb container of pie cherries?

lol, straight off the line. My parents live near several family-owned orchards in Utah. Washed, sorted and pitted.

It pays to be friends with your local fruit growers! Peaches, cherries, apples, apricots, pears, raspberries...often they will sell seconds that the grocery stores don't want for amazing prices.
