Pinky - you are so right about the stars! Since we are so far out from the ambient lights of civilization, the sky at night is beautiful. Shooting stars every few minutes! The only place I have experienced better star gazing was in Samoa. And the sunrise/sunsets are beautiful too, especially if there are a few clouds. We are also directly under the flight path for LAX and Ontario Intl airport so the jet contrails often make for spectacular sunset displays!

Hmmm...so i am reading through your old posts. LOVE the sweet potato pie story.
Regarding the travel trailer you thought about converting....keep your eyes open for an old water cooler. You could even pipe some cool air through there for your hennies to keep them cool in summer. And I think you and I should compare notes on the gardening since we share the same climate.
Edited to add...You didn't happen to take pix of the aprons J made did you? I for one would like to see them. (yes I am on an apron tangent)

Oh yes... the sweet potato pie... It actually didn't taste too bad as long as you didn't eat the crust!

I always have my eyes open for cheap swamp coolers! Especially now that we have added on a room! It would be great to have one for the chickens, but they actually did very well last summer with just the shadecloth. I also cut off the top of 3 liter soda bottles, fill them with water and freeze them. Pop the hunk of ice out, break it into a few chunks and toss them in the run. The girls love to dust bathe in the cool, damp sand. I also mist the run several times throughout the day.

And we definitely need to compare gardening notes! And here are the pics you asked for:

This first one is a dress with a matching apron. This was the only "hostess" style apron for the craft fair.
