I'm hoping it will live up to expectations, mine & yours! Going to plant everything much closer to the house this time. Maybe it will help keep the squirrels at bay!

I wonder if a bar of soap would work with squirrels, it does with deer for a short time. :hu Might be worth a shot.

Marianne mentioned dryer sheets. I'm planning to have everything in containers with smooth sides or a lip that they cant climb over.

eta: Heck, in the summer I could sleep out there to keep them away!

I'm beginning to think there isn't anything that works on squirrels! The ones up here are flat out mean spirited too - they don't want the food, they just don't want anybody else to have the food! :rant

We have very tiny ground squirrels. They completely devoured my garden last year in 3 days flat! I don't like to kill anything I'm not going to eat, but if they even think about eating my garden this year, they DIE!

:old The "Old Man" next door swears by chewing gum. They eat it and it "clogs" them up and they die. I may have to try it this year.

It's supposed to work for ground hogs, too. But, I really don't think it did anything. I'm not sure, but I think I saw a few of them blowing bubbles. And a couple of them were having a contest to see who could blow the biggest bubble.

I kinda had the same feeling! I think the "Old Man's" "dead" squirrels were all over here eating vegetables and chicken feed with Wrigley's spearmint for dessert!

as a visual deterant hanging old CDs shiney sides out is supposed to help, it REALY helps with deer but im not sure how it would do with ground squirels...

I say taking up target practice with a bb or pellet gun would be your best bet...

CDs don't work. Tried it! They are very tiny and fast! I've tried a pellet gun and have never been able to hit one! I have hit one with a rock though! Sheer luck!
