Chickens out My Ears!!!

Right now I have:

24 Adult Chickens
1 Pullet
16 Hatchlings (BSL and BO)

28 Eggs due Monday (All are sold except BSL roosters)

2 Hens on each a nest of 12 eggs

I am buying 30 Eggs (Delawares and Dominiques to put in the incubator)

Then I am setting around 30 Buff Orpington Eggs as well.

Can you say covered up???

I have had several requests for started pullets, and now I will have roosters to grow out. It's all working out good....

We just set our brooder on 6 eggs, and I'm starting to worry we'll have too many - with 15!

HA HA HA! Make sure you ENJOY them! Last year, we had a bumper crop of babies- both hatched and mail ordered. This year, none of my hens have gone broody except for one little bantam girl whose eggs don't look fertile and I didn't order any. I was just getting used to the fact that we might not have any li'l peepers around here and my husband, daughter and sister got me an incubator for my b-day two days ago... so, we'll see! We might both have chickens coming out of our ears by the end of the season!

I have 30 laying hens... 11 roosters (oops.. I sold 1!) I have a broody sitting on 10 eggs and I just put 41 in the incubator. There are 3 breeds I want to buy at least 3 each of and the turkeys are coming the 8th. I will be ordering 25-30 "meaties" this month. I also have 5 guineas and 3 more "strays" joined my flock!
