Just stopping in for a coffee before another long hiatus.
Sounds like fun! I'm guilty of not doing "leisurely" drives, lol. DH is good at trying to teach me! I know the "drive until you get there" gene is from my dad. Thanks dad...
That's all I ever do. It has become shorter drives for the whole day since the years of sleep apneia have added up, and I just can't drive late anymore.
We stop every 1/4 of a tank to stretch and use the restroom. Makes trips better and if you are spending months transient on the road it makes life much nicer 😃.
I think my last time home I was on the phone with a buddy and said if my truck holds out (another discussion) I can go another 3hrs before needing to fill up neat the house for a last stop.
Finally our black angus steers have investigated their double stalls. Found the range feed block and drank some water out of the 150 gallon tub. How do I know? There's only one animal I know of, that leaves behind bovine droppings in their wake 😂

Their pasture is still green and very slowly growing. That's where they want to be, grazing the pasture. Can't say I blame them, that's where I would want to be if I were a beef steer.

Congrats on your place coming along and I'll say I wish I had grass.

It's @farmerjan fault my pastures are still green and growing. I put the pasture on a strict, timed bush hog schedule, as she indicated. It worked very well. Bush hog it low when the favorable grasses seed, preferably before a rain. I still can't believe the difference it made.

It works along with NOT over grazing. She knows her stuff. I wish I had more land to switch/rotate pastures and graze, mow, let grow and thin to the next one.
I have enough land to stall all the horses for 6 months and not much more. I'm working on it though.
Good to see you
